We wish You a Merry Christmas

Mackenzie, Sophie, Breanna, and Halle with their Beany Boo Babies Christmas Day

This is Breanna, right after I told her we got her a new bicycle (instead of the doll she asked for) for Christmas. No drama in that girl....

After Shellee, Aimee, and Jason rode Bre's new bike, she decided it looked like fun and came outside to try it on for size....

Twas the night before
Christmas....

The grandkids all decked out in their Christmas Eve jammies.  We had such a fun night over at Shellee's house. We had dinner and then the kids put on their jammies and danced to Bre and Halle's Christmas

Cutest Grandkids Ever at the Grant Elementary Halloween Parade! I didn't even recognize Jacob in his cheerleader costume! It's fun to see the delight on the kids' faces as they march through the gym dressed in all their Halloween finery.  It's a fun tradition that I hope continues for years to come.

My own version of pageant of the masters

So Mackenzie & Sophie's mom (aka: Aimee) asked me if I would paint a mural on their new bedroom wall with cute owls, butterflies, a large tree and some birds. Then Sophie saw a picture of 2 girls in a swing and decided she wanted a swing in her tree.  These paintings always take longer than I think they will. But it's a fun creative outlet, though nerve-wracking, because I'm always afraid it will turn out like a kindergarten drawing. Which is not a bad thing, if you're in kindergarten. So here's what I have drawn/painted so far, and then a photo of the finished mural.

Jon Plays Football

I love watching Jonathan play football. He's fun to watch, and a real play-maker. The downside is that I usually have a stomach ache by halftime. The boys hit with intensity, and thank goodness they wear pads.

Breanna Plays Softball

Bre is playing softball on a little girls league in Taylorsville. She's a pretty good little player thanks to some coaching from her brothers!

A short visit to St George is better than no visit at all...but just barely

So Aimee  was taking her girls to St George for a vacation before school started, so we invited ourselves along to enjoy a couple of days of R & R (rest and relaxation) which turned into H & S (hot and sweaty) once we got there. Luckily, the Crystal Inn had a great pool, and we spent a lot of our time there.

I never get tired of the beautiful contrast of the blue sky against the red rock.
